Synopsis

ESPWA (Hope in French Creole) is a feature-length documentary that explores the role of Haitian artists as guardians of the nation's voice at a time when national institutions and governance are absent or failing. The film examines Haiti's history and the repercussions of the recent assassination of President Jovenel Moïse as the country attempts to rebuild itself on the path to security and prosperity. Espwa is a story of resilience, offering exclusive access to the account of Joverlein Moïse, the assassinated president's son, who shares his testimony for the first time.
