Biography

Duncan Wood (1925–1997) was a British television producer, director and writer. He became known for his work on British comedy, producing and directing Hancock's Half Hour and later Steptoe and Son, on which he worked from its first series through its sixth. He also worked on series including Citizen James, Hugh and I, The Bed-Sit Girl and The World of Beachcomber. From 1970 to 1973, he served as Head of Comedy at the BBC before becoming Head of Light Entertainment at Yorkshire Television.
