Biography

Tom Binns is an Australian Film and Television Producer. Tom attended Geelong Grammar School as a boarded at age 15. He then became a Midshipman on the UK/AUST Royal Mail ,Passenger Service In 1959 he became a Studio Cameraman at QTQ9 Brisbaine , Then director of several programs. In 1965 he headed back to sea as an Officer on the famous liner ” QUEEN MARY” Then in 1967 he became Free Lance Master Control Co-Ordinator at TCN 9 Sydney. In 1968 he was Assistant Director on the TV. Series “Riptide” Moving to Associate Producer for the 1972 French film “La Valle” Directed by Barbet Schroeder. He was then Assistant Director in 1973 on the long running Australian series "Homicide" Then in 1976 he became General Manager at the famous “Sovereign Hill” at Ballarat. He went on to Producer and Direct a few more productions with "Sleeping Dogs", “Against the Wind” and “The Last Outlaw” Prior to forming Steam Age AUST.PTY.LTD in 1980
