Biography

Actor, screenwriter, director. People's Artist of the Georgian SSR (1982). People's Artist of the Abkhaz ASSR (1983). Graduated from the directing department of the Tbilisi Theater Institute named after Sh. Rustaveli (1967). From the age of 17 he worked at the Academic Theater named after K. Marjanishvili, was a stage worker, director and actor of this theater. Since 1962 - actor and director (since 1967) of the Academic Theater named after Sh. Rustaveli, returned to this theater in 1973. In 1969-1972 he was the chief director of the Batumi Theater named after I. Chavchavadze. Since 1974 she has been a teacher at the Acting Department of the Georgian Theater Institute named after Sh. Rustaveli. In 1976-1982 he was the director of the Kutaisi Art Theater named after L. Meskhishvili. Since 1982 - artistic director and director of the Sukhumi Drama Theater named after K. Gamsakhurdia.
