Biography

Lars-Erik “Labbe” Grimelund, born 17 June 1968 in Norway, is a Swedish musician and drummer, best known for his role as the long-time percussionist in Håkan Hellström’s live band since 2001. With roots in alternative and indie music, Grimelund has also played with bands such as Whipped Cream and Souls before becoming a key contributor to Hellström’s energetic performances. Since 2017, he has teamed up with Finn Björnulfson in the percussion-driven ensemble Bongo Riot, blending rhythm and dance music influences. Grimelund’s steady presence behind the drum kit has made him a respected figure in the Swedish music scene, and he continues to perform both in live settings and studio collaborations.
