Biography

Zachary Cutter is a filmmaker, writer, actor, and producer currently studying film at New York University. His work centers on character-driven stories and human relationships, exploring themes of identity, isolation, memory, and emotional vulnerability. Since arriving at NYU, he has directed three short films: two intimate relationship-focused narratives and one surrealist piece inspired by personal experiences. His previous work includes The Screen, recipient of a Silver Medal from the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers; One Day, which screened at the Patrick Lives On Film Festival; and After the Curtain Falls, which screened at the 2026 New York Shorts International Film Festival. In addition to his narrative work, he directed two documentaries addressing racial issues within his high school community; both films were later shown to the school board to help encourage structural change within the district. Zach has continued his documentary pursuits with his social media series, One Question, blending personal interviews with archival footage. His latest short film, Wingmen, is set for release in September 2026.
