Yolly Samson

Biography

Yolly Samson, also known as Yolanda Samson, was the lead vocalist for the Filipino pop band Cinderella after the departure of their initial lead singer, Cecile Colayco. She successfully auditioned for Sunshine Records and became the prominent face and voice of the band. She appeared on Disco Baby (1977), a film directed by Luciano B. Carlos, the only film that featured Yolly samson along Nora Aunor, Rico J Puno, and Didith Reyes. Her powerful and emotive vocals were central to many of Cinderella’s hit songs, including “Superstar ng Buhay Ko” and “Pag-ibig Ko'y Ibang Iba.” She also released a solo album titled, “Yolly Samson is Cinderella.” She was also described as Cinderella personified: very pretty, with a warm and sunny personality.
